MPA is proud to partner with a leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing high-quality long-term care to seniors across British Columbia.

In this role, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for assessing and supporting the nutritional needs of residents whilst promoting their independence and dignity.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive, person-centered nutritional assessments of residents upon admission and as needed.
  • Work in partnership with the with the Food Services Supervisor and multidisciplinary team to ensure residents’ nutritional needs are met.
  • Design and periodically review menus to ensure they meet regulatory standards as well as residents’ nutritional needs, dietary restrictions and personal preferences.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate the Nutritional Program.
  • Provide evidence-based nutrition education and guidance on topics such as swallowing disorders and caloric intake etc. to both residents and staff.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives with the Food Services Team such as audits.
  • Regularly meet with the Food Services Team to review the Nutritional Program and address any resident concerns.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance competency in role.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Nutrition and completion of dietetic internship.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC).
  • 1-2 years post-qualifying experience as a Dietician.
  • Valid Food Safe Certificate.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working with geriatric populations or in a long-term care setting.
  • Membership with the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management.
