YOUR MISSIONS:

Design and Planning:

  • Participate in the design of plans, specifications, and electrical details for current projects.
  • Prepare single-line diagrams, control diagrams, connections, lists of loads and equipment, etc.
  • Carry out sizing calculations and selection of electrical equipment.
  • Select and size cables, and prepare the associated lists.
  • Plan and detail the grounding network, heating cables, and controllers.

Coordination and Communication:

  • Coordinate with the client to define needs.
  • Review technical documents received from suppliers and contractors, coordinate with other stakeholders, and provide status updates as required.

Technical Support and Supervision:

  • Provide technical support to the site team during the execution of construction work.
  • Supervise and work in conjunction with technicians and designers assigned to the projects.

Procurement and Documentation:

  • Prepare, verify, and issue technical quotes for the purchase of equipment.
  • Participate in the verification and production of tender calls, clarifications, and other technical documents for the purchase of various components and materials.
  • Follow VTEK procedures when preparing internal documents.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Carry out any other related tasks that can help carry out projects in the field of petroleum product terminals, in relation to the expertise developed.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

  • Educational Background: University bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of complex engineering processes and designing procedures and policies.
  • Standards: Familiar with the Canadian Electrical Code and other industry standards and best practices (IEEE, API).
  • Professional Designation: Professional Engineering designation or eligibility required.
  • Experience: Minimum 8-12 years of experience in the engineering discipline, organizational experience, and experience at a leading engineering level. Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Leadership: Experience coordinating, leading, and directing other engineering employees and project members.

  • Field Work: Ability to work in the field, including year-round weather conditions, bending, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, lifting up to 20lbs, high elevation climbing, working at heights, and in enclosed spaces. Must be able to wear full PPE as required by safety standards.
