Senior Business Analyst

Hybrid - Greater Toronto Area

Large Enterprise Client


Responsibilities:

- Work closely with business units to grasp their goals, services, and environment. Document the capabilities needed to tackle business challenges.

- Lead both high-level and detailed requirement phases to identify and validate requirements for accuracy.

- Analyze end-to-end business processes to detect operational, financial, and technological risks, and suggest improvements for increased efficiency.

- Partner with business teams throughout the project lifecycle, understanding their needs, setting expectations, and developing customer-focused change proposals.

- Support Initiative Leads, Project Managers, Systems Analysts, and others in translating business concepts and functional requirements into actionable solutions.

- Evaluate, research, analyze, and document sponsor/partner needs according to the project lifecycle, utilizing appropriate tools.

- Recommend business solutions that fulfill sponsor/collaborator needs, continually exploring and assessing options for benefits.

- Develop training materials such as SOPs, user guides, and web-based training, and assist the business through change.

- Manage the escalation and/or resolution of business system issues.

- Help quantify business benefits and develop KPIs to measure initiative performance.


What You Will Bring:

- 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst

- Knowledge or experience in Commercial Insurance

- Hands-on experience as a BA - writing requirements, creating user stories, process mapping, data modeling, maintaining data dictionaries, etc.

- Ability to comprehend, explain, and present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing.

- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to facilitate working sessions.

- Strong drive to collaborate with colleagues at all levels and across the business, including other Business Analysts, IT, and underwriting groups.

- Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

- Proficient in Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

- College or University Degree or equivalent practical experience.

- Experience with large transformation projects.

- Familiarity with tools such as Planview and Jira.
