ICI Estimator - Commercial Interior Fit-Ups and Renovations

Position Overview:

The ICI Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial interior fit-up and renovation projects. This role requires a deep understanding of construction processes, materials, and industry best practices to ensure that all project bids are both cost-effective and high quality.



Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Estimating and Bidding:

Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.

Prepare and submit competitive bids for commercial interior fit-up and renovation projects.

Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimates.

Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.

Develop and maintain a cost database for labor, materials, and equipment.

  1. Project Analysis and Cost Management:

Evaluate project scope, specifications, and contract documents to identify potential risks and opportunities.

Provide value engineering suggestions to optimize project costs while maintaining quality.

Monitor and adjust estimates as project conditions change, ensuring that estimates remain accurate throughout the bidding process.

Work closely with project managers and other team members to review and refine estimates and budgets.

  1. Client and Stakeholder Interaction:

Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and address any concerns.

Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits with clients and stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project scope and requirements.

  1. Documentation and Reporting:

Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of estimates, including backup data and assumptions.

Provide regular updates on bid status and success rates, and prepare post-bid analysis reports.

Ensure all estimates comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.

  1. Continuous Improvement:

Stay updated on industry trends, construction techniques, and cost data to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.

Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of construction estimating.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an estimator in the ICI sector, specifically in commercial interior fit-ups and renovations.
  • Proven track record of successful project bids and accurate cost estimating.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in estimating software such as Timberline, WinEst, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and local building codes.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
