An Edmonton client is seeking a Senior Land Development Engineer to join their team.

Senior Land Development Engineer Highlights:


  • Assess initial project validity, conduct preliminary engineering work, and prepare design fees based on construction costs (typically 9%, varying by project complexity).
  • Manage and estimate construction budgets for projects ranging from $1M to $50M, preparing cost estimates at key design milestones to support client financing and project viability.
  • Oversee project timelines, aiming to complete designs the year before construction, while managing timelines based on client investment, market conditions, and regulatory approvals.
  • Source new projects, build strong client relationships, ensure clear communication, and align proposals with project specifics.
  • Mentor junior engineering staff and co-op students, support the co-op program, and grow the engineering group and project backlog to maintain consistent team workload.


  • Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in land OR site development engineering.
  • Extensive experience with stormwater management, report writing, and sediment & erosion control design and construction monitoring.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
  • Professional designation as a P.Eng or P.L. (Eng.).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with modeling software such as PCSWWM, XPSTORM, or SWMHYMO.
