Position overview:
Ventus is seeking an experienced translational scientist to lead the design and execution of biomarker strategies in support of our early and late-stage research programs. The candidate will be responsible for the development of translational biomarker approaches that measure target engagement, pharmacodynamics and disease pathology. As a strategic leader within a multidisciplinary team, the candidate will ensure that biomarker strategies align with the most current understanding of inflammatory disease biology and enable early clinical proof-of-concept. The candidate is expected to take a hands-on approach in the pre-clinical validation of such approaches using disease biospecimens. This role is a unique opportunity to work at the interface of discovery and development while championing biomarker-initiatives that have a direct impact on novel clinical study design.
Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts to develop and implement translational biomarker strategies that assess proof of mechanism, establish early signs of efficacy and enable proof of concept studies
- Partner with preclinical scientists to design and execute translational research to validate biomarker strategies
- Collaborate with research and clinical teams to ensure the integration of biomarker discoveries into the design of early clinical studies
- Oversee clinical validation of biomarker assays and collaborate with clinical pharmacology in the analysis of clinical biomarker studies
- Contribute to discovery pipeline as a biology team representative
Requirements:
- PhD with primary focus in Immunology with at least 8 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience
- Experience in small molecule drug discovery and program leadership
- Experience in the identification and validation of pharmacodynamic and disease biomarkers, as well as their clinical implementation
- Ability to drive and influence projects from discovery through early clinical development with a focus on the identification of indications and development of biomarker strategies that enable early proof-of-concept
- Outstanding analytical, research and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal, influencing, and collaboration skills
- Ability to prioritize, and be highly productive and flexible in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to communicate scientific results to diverse audiences, in a clear and concise manner

Aperçu du poste :
Ventus est à la recherche d'un scientifique expérimenté pour diriger la conception et l'exécution de stratégies de biomarqueurs pour soutenir nos programmes de recherche en phase initiale et en phase avancée. Le candidat sera responsable du développement d'approches de biomarqueurs translationnels qui mesurent l'engagement de la cible, la pharmacodynamique et la pathologie de la maladie. En tant que leader stratégique au sein d'une équipe multidisciplinaire, le candidat veillera à ce que les stratégies de biomarqueurs s'alignent sur la compréhension la plus récente de la biologie des maladies inflammatoires et permettent une preuve de concept clinique précoce. On attend du candidat qu'il adopte une approche pratique de la validation préclinique de ces approches en utilisant des échantillons biologiques de la maladie. Ce poste est une occasion unique de travailler à l'interface de la découverte et du développement tout en défendant les initiatives en matière de biomarqueurs qui ont un impact direct sur la conception de nouvelles études cliniques.
Responsabilités :
- Mener des efforts pour développer et mettre en œuvre des stratégies de biomarqueurs translationnels qui évaluent la preuve du mécanisme, établissent des signes précoces d'efficacité et permettent des études de preuve de concept
- Travailler en partenariat avec des scientifiques précliniques pour concevoir et exécuter des recherches translationnelles afin de valider des stratégies de biomarqueurs
- Collaborer avec les équipes de recherche et les équipes cliniques afin d'assurer l'intégration des découvertes en matière de biomarqueurs dans la conception des premières études cliniques
- Superviser la validation clinique des essais de biomarqueurs et collaborer avec la pharmacologie clinique pour l'analyse des études de biomarqueurs cliniques
- Contribuer au pipeline de découverte en tant que représentant de l'équipe de biologie
Exigences :
- Doctorat en immunologie avec au moins 8 ans d'expérience dans l'industrie pharmaceutique ou biotechnologique
- Expérience de la découverte de médicaments à petites molécules et de la direction de programmes
- Expérience dans l'identification et la validation de biomarqueurs pharmacodynamiques et pathologiques, ainsi que dans leur mise en œuvre clinique
- Capacité à conduire et à influencer des projets depuis la découverte jusqu'au développement clinique précoce, en mettant l'accent sur l'identification des indications et le développement de stratégies de biomarqueurs permettant une validation précoce du concept
- Excellentes compétences en matière d'analyse, de recherche et d'organisation
- Solides compétences en matière de relations interpersonnelles, d'influence et de collaboration
- Capacité à établir des priorités, à être hautement productif et flexible dans un environnement où le rythme est rapide et où l'esprit d'équipe est de mise
