What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in construction supervision or a related role, with a proven track record of successfully managing projects from start to finish.
  • Education: Post-secondary education in construction management or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting structural, architectural, and shop drawings to ensure project execution aligns with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Scheduling Expertise: Experience in developing and managing project schedules, with a solid understanding of critical path methodologies to prioritize tasks effectively and ensure milestones are achieved on time.
  • Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams to achieve project goals and maintain high performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, ensuring alignment across stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and practical problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential issues proactively and implement solutions in a timely manner to keep the project on track.
  • Compliance & Safety: Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure compliance on every project and maintain a safety-first culture on-site.
  • Self-Starter Attitude: A motivated, proactive individual who works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Integrity: Demonstrates honesty, transparency, and professionalism in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

Your Role at Steelcon:

As a Project Supervisor at Steelcon, you will have an overall responsibility for onsite activities from planning through to completion. You will work closely with the project management team, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Field Management: Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive onsite plans, ensuring strict adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire field teams, fostering a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment.
  • Communication: Act as the primary point of onsite contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams, ensuring clear, consistent, and timely communication throughout all phases of the project.
  • Drawing Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret structural, architectural, and shop drawings, guiding project execution to ensure precision and compliance with design specifications.
  • Schedule Management: Develop and manage detailed project schedules, leveraging a strong understanding of critical path methodologies to prioritize tasks and ensure timely delivery.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively identify potential issues and implement effective solutions to mitigate risks, ensuring the smooth progression of the project.
  • Compliance: Ensure all project activities comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and company policies, maintaining high standards for safety and quality throughout.
