ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • Support Director Finance in driving and executing the financial accounting and reporting needs of the organization and support the achievement of budgeted financial goals and objectives.
  • Perform a wide variety of cost accounting functions including job costing, profitability and variance analysis (Cost/Price/Margin), Inventory valuation, reconciling and auditing, complex, non-standard accounting and financial analysis.
  • Develop and maintain a profitability analysis by revenue type, operational division, etc. as well as benchmarking and operating efficiently targets.
  • Coordinate monthly procedures related to month-end activities (accruals for revenues and costs).
  • Prepare detailed cash, cost and revenue forecasts, including reporting to management.
  • Prepare monthly job analysis of expenses and revenue to review with management.
  • Creation and review of variance reports and review variance against plan to ensure effective management of financial impacts of departmental decisions.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify areas of improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, and finance to gather data and provide insights on cost-related matters.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts by providing valuable cost-related information.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reconcile inventory accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and present cost analysis reports to senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations
  • This role has the opportunity to develop into leadership: Showcase subject matter expertise, train departmental staff and key stakeholders to enhance understanding and compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.


SKILLS THE CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ideally 5+ years of progressive experience in a Finance or Accounting role.
  • Proficiency in cost accounting principles, practices, and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience with manufacturing ERP systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
