ABOUT THE ROLE:
Support Director Finance in driving and executing the financial accounting and reporting needs of the organization and support the achievement of budgeted financial goals and objectives.
Perform a wide variety of cost accounting functions including job costing, profitability and variance analysis (Cost/Price/Margin), Inventory valuation, reconciling and auditing, complex, non-standard accounting and financial analysis.
Develop and maintain a profitability analysis by revenue type, operational division, etc. as well as benchmarking and operating efficiently targets.
Coordinate monthly procedures related to month-end activities (accruals for revenues and costs).
Prepare detailed cash, cost and revenue forecasts, including reporting to management.
Prepare monthly job analysis of expenses and revenue to review with management.
Creation and review of variance reports and review variance against plan to ensure effective management of financial impacts of departmental decisions.
Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
Conduct variance analysis to identify areas of improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, procurement, and finance to gather data and provide insights on cost-related matters.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts by providing valuable cost-related information.
Monitor inventory levels and reconcile inventory accounts to ensure accuracy.
Prepare and present cost analysis reports to senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations
This role has the opportunity to develop into leadership: Showcase subject matter expertise, train departmental staff and key stakeholders to enhance understanding and compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
SKILLS THE CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
Ideally 5+ years of progressive experience in a Finance or Accounting role.
Proficiency in cost accounting principles, practices, and methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience with manufacturing ERP systems.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
