The Country Club on The Boardwalk is where southern charm meets east coast hospitality and we are set to open our doors, Fall of 2024. Located on the newly developed multi-million-dollar boardwalk project in the heart of Uptown Saint John.


We are all about country music, dancing, drinks and southern bites. As a hospitality venue we are committed to creating a fun and unique experience for the residents of Saint John and surrounding areas, an approachable sophistication that feels both elevated and inviting. 


The Country Club on The Boardwalk is owned and operated by J Scott McCain Sports Entertainment.


We are hiring for the position of General Manager and are looking to fill this role prior to opening our doors Fall 2024. In addition to a competitive salary, we foster a positive and collaborative work environment. We offer support, guidance and mentorship, it is our goal to see you grow and flourish in this exciting hospitality venture. In addition to “The Country Club”, this role could potentially see you as a part of a larger operation involving the boardwalk amphitheatre and large-scale concerts/festivals. 


The Country Club on The Boardwalk is owned and operated by J Scott McCain Sports Entertainment.


Job Description

As General Manager you will directly impact the success of our business by delivering a memorable experience to our guests and strong leadership to our front and back of house employees. In this role, you will be responsible for attracting, retaining, and mentoring a dynamic team of individuals. Leadership alongside operational proficiency will be imperative to your success.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

·       Lead and manage front and back of house staff. 

·       Manage and coordinate staff schedules for the entire team.

·       Ensure the staff adheres to our high service level standards.

·       Ensure the bar team executes our beverage program with speed and efficiency.

·       Adhere to beverage program variances standards. 

·       Full knowledge of all food and beverage offerings in order assist guests with menu selections, including all modifications for dietary restrictions and allergens.

·       Impeccable table maintenance, accuracy on POS orders, and willingness to assist all staff with clearing, food running, etc.

·       Ensures proper health and safety procedures are followed by all team members.

·       Safe & efficient completion of all side-duties, including opening & closing duties

·       Other duties as assigned or required.

What we are looking for:

·       Minimum 1 years’ experience managing a full-service high-volume restaurant.

·       A passion for creating memorable guest experiences.

·       Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.

·       Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

·       Strong organizational skills.

·       Ambition & desire to develop as a leader.

·       Must be legally allowed to work in Canada.


Compensation is a blend of base salary and performance bonus. This is a full time permanent role with benefits after the probationary period.
