Your Role


Reporting directly to the Vice President, Finance, the Director, Finance, Exhibition & Theatrical plays a critical role overseeing all accounting and finance activities of the Exhibition & Theatrical division of the group. This position is integral to ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the division, driving both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning.

 

What you will get to do

 

  • Maintain the divisional financial reporting process, including preparation and presentation of periodic financial statements for cross-border entities and reports for senior management.
  • Coordinate the divisional annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes alongside divisional leaders.
  • Create and maintain complex financial forecast models in excel for projects in development, and production, and international touring for review by management, investors and partners.
  • Manage reporting to external stakeholders, including royalties, and profit shares.
  • Oversee all settlement processes including promoter settlements, licensor settlements, venue settlements, etc.
  • Support in the creation of financial presentations.
  • Ongoing review and analysis of operations and potential business and investment opportunities.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain internal controls.
  • Support the finance team with advice and direction on bookkeeping/accounting questions and complex entries.
  • Oversee US sales tax reporting, review sales tax entries and support team on US sales tax requests.
  • Manage divisional credit card program ensuring compliance and policies are followed.
  • Review intercompany reconciliations and process intercompany cash transfers.
  • Review capitalized development costs to ensure allocation accuracy.
  • Provide support to external audit process.
  • Approve and release payments.

 

Who you are

 

Competencies/Skills Knowledge/Experience/ Behaviours


  • Experience in live entertainment; with focus on production or promoter areas of entertainment.
  • 7+ years’ experience in a senior financial and or management role.
  • CPA designation and knowledge of accounting standards.
  • Located within North America.
  • Demonstrated passion of communication, mentorship and growing careers.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office is required.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks, US and Canadian tax legislation would be an asset.
  • Ability to strategize and solve problems.
  • In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
  • Highly self-motivated and takes ownership for personal and technical skills development.
  • Maintains good commercial awareness and understands business drivers.
  • Process driven, well organized, deadline-focused and adept at prioritizing workload.
  • Uses initiative to identify issues and create solutions.
  • Combines analytical thought with creativity to excel at problem-solving.
