The Category Finance Director must have a 360° strategic and financial vision to support and advise the category (volume and mix, price increase, contract renewal, investment, manufacturing and delivery costs, etc.). He/she actively participates in its management committee. He acts as a change agent and contributes to the achievement of the category's financial objectives. His/her main mandate is to develop recommendations and participate in decision-making to increase profitability and ensure the organization's sustainability.

What’s Involved In This Role
Interpret and present monthly financial results and financial projections to the organization (volume performance, P&L, marketing costs, cost of service, etc.);
Participate as a member of the category management committee in strategy development and decision-making;
Actively participate in strategic category projects (multifunctional);
Share business perspective with various finance functions and ensure alignment with category needs;
Oversee all category profitability initiatives (volume and mix, assist with product pricing/contract renewals as well as manufacturing cost/profitability);
Oversee category investment projects (budget/monitoring, financial analysis/business case, post-investment analysis and CAPEX);
Supervise and mentor the operational finance team at the Truro (1 FTE) and Edmonton (1 FTE) plants.
Supervise and manage the Costing (1 FTE) and Profitability Analysis (1 FTE) functions.
Responsible for employee relations, including directing employee work, hiring, training, performance appraisals, administration of policies and procedures, disciplinary actions and compensation recommendations;
Directs the implementation of department objectives, goals and policies;
Discharge supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies, procedures and guidelines;
Understand and adhere to good manufacturing practices.
What You Need To Join Our Team
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field required;
Minimum of eight (8) years of accounting experience required;
Minimum of two (2) years experience in a leadership role required;
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred;
Proven experience in leading teams through organizational transformations;
Ability to inspire, promote teamwork and build strong relationships, fostering a culture of collaboration and performance;
Strong organizational skills, time management and supervision of multiple complex projects in demanding environments;
Expertise in simplifying complex processes, integrating synergies and implementing measurable processes to optimize operations;
Ability to make decisions based on analysis, experience and judgment, ensuring accurate and timely solutions;
Good understanding of market, competition and strategic dynamics to support organizational development;
Proficiency in verbal and written communication to interact effectively with a variety of audiences, including executives, internal teams and external partners;
Expertise in formal presentation, able to capture attention and manage complex strategic discussions;
Commitment to delivering high-quality services that meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders;
Adoption of a continuous improvement mindset to optimize performance and support organizational evolution;
