Our client is seeking a Digital Factory Data Scientist to join their team for a 12-month term as part of their expanding data science chapter. In this role, you will collaborate with a highly dynamic team to create digital products that enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.


This position offers the chance to develop new skills in an agile work environment, working closely with experienced data scientists. The team's diverse projects range from predictive maintenance and rail optimization to digital manufacturing, knowledge management with GenAI, and new product and catalyst development, offering a wide array of opportunities for skill development and innovation.


Responsibilities

  • Support initiatives to ensure the safe, reliable, and competitive operation of our manufacturing assets.
  • Collaborate with process, mechanical, and automation engineers to solve complex problems using data science methodologies such as machine learning, statistical algorithms, and optimization.
  • Design and develop exploratory, predictive, or prescriptive models employing techniques like optimization, simulation, and machine learning.
  • Work with data architects and developers to create scalable data pipelines and deploy models from development to production environments, whether on edge or in the cloud.
  • Conduct timely analysis and testing to maintain solutions over time.
  • Convert business requirements into technical prototypes and solutions.
  • Communicate the design, functionality, and outcomes of the developed analytical models and solutions.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Graduate Degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related technical field.
  • 0-5 years of experience in statistics and machine learning, with expertise in time series, image, and text data processing.
  • Proficiency in Python and associated data science libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn, Numpy, Matplotlib, etc.).
  • Experience in deploying models in production environments, especially using cloud platforms like Azure Databricks.
  • Proven ability to execute projects both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt.
  • A safety-conscious individual who actively promotes a safe working environment.
