What you will do:
- Lead and manage structural engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring all deliverables meet quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated engineering solutions are developed and implemented.
- Utilize computational tools and software to perform structural analysis and simulations.
- Develop and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Address and resolve technical issues that arise during project execution.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical support and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
- Review and approve design documents, calculations, and project deliverables.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on structural engineering matters.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders.
- Produce technical reports and memos to support design.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor' degree in Civil Engineering required.
- 5+ years plus of experience in steel bridge construction and design.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software packages as required.
- P.Eng. certification in Ontario or other Canadian province(s)
- Familiar with structural design software and drawing tools (ie AutoCAD, Solidworks, RISA, SAP and similar)
- Knowledge of applicable design codes (CSA S-6, AASHTO LRFD) an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canadian Engineering standards
- Ability to optimize designs and product costs to help win projects against competitors
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Able to create alternative solutions to problems
- Excellent time management and project management skills
