We are looking for an experienced and hands on Network and System Administrator to join our team. The Network and System Administrator will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our organization's technology infrastructure including maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network infrastructure, and related software applications including but not limited to hardware, software, networks and security. This role requires a hands-on, strategic thinker with strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to ensuring the stability and security of our IT environment.


Roles and Responsibilities


Network Infrastructure Management:

  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot network issues, and optimize network configuration for maximum efficiency and reliability.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and cyber threats.


System Administration:

  • Administer and maintain servers, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and virtualization platforms (Hyper-V).
  • Install, configure, and manage server applications, services, and roles, such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.
  • Perform routine system maintenance tasks, including patch management, software updates, and backups.


User Support and Helpdesk:

  • Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
  • Assist users with account management, password resets, access permissions, and system configurations.
  • Document and maintain knowledge base articles, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures.


Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard IT assets and data integrity.
  • Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS) and industry best practices.


Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, backup strategies, and contingency measures to minimize downtime and data loss.
  • Test and validate backup systems, recovery procedures, and failover mechanisms on a regular basis.


What are we looking for?


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Network and System Administrator or similar role, with a strong understanding of networking principles, protocols, and technologies.
  • Proficiency in administering Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as virtualization platforms (Hyper-V).
  • Experience with network infrastructure devices (routers, switches, firewalls), network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and VPN technologies.
  • Familiarity with security tools and practices, such as intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint protection, and encryption.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and customer-focused approach to resolving issues.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or equivalent are a plus.
