Production Lead - Chemical

The role:


Our team is expanding and we are looking for a Chemical Production Lead to design, develop and test chemical processes and equipment. You will oversee the implementation of technologies and processes, troubleshoot problems, and ensure that safety regulations are met. You will also be responsible for research and development activities, working closely with other engineers and professionals in the field to create and improve chemical manufacturing processes. This role reports to the Director of Operations.


What you will do:


  • Manage and execute production operations through synthesis.
  • Create purchasing requests and follow up on them.
  • Work closely with procurement to source materials for product improvement and development.
  • Product synthesis.
  • Maintain and optimize formulation throughout batch production, qualification and product release certification.
  • Process control and operation of plant/lab batch manufacturing.
  • Validate processes for environmental, health and safety requirements and propose necessary changes to comply with updated local government regulations.
  • Maintain records of manufacturing operations.
  • Maintenance planning and management of equipment required for production/mixing.
  • Participate and act as a point of reference for new process implementations/improvements.
  • Manage and supervise the team of formulation chemists and ensure that competencies are considered and developed through a competency assessment process.



Your main skills:


  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 3 years' experience as a production supervisor or similar role is required.
  • Experience using various types of manufacturing tools and equipment such as plant scale reactors, filter press, pumps, condenser, and scrubbers is required.
  • Experience operating laboratory equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge & implementation of Quality System for ISO 17034
  • Site safety rules and responsibilities.
  • Proactive problem solver with fluent written and spoken English and French

Notre équipe s’agrandit et nous sommes à la recherche d’un responsable de la production chimique pour concevoir, développer et tester des procédés et des équipements chimiques. Vous superviserez la mise en œuvre des technologies et des processus, résoudrez les problèmes et veillerez au respect des règles de sécurité. Vous serez également responsable des activités de recherche et développement, en travaillant en étroite collaboration avec d’autres ingénieurs et professionnels du domaine pour créer et améliorer les processus de fabrication de produits chimiques. Ce rôle relève du directeur des opérations.


Ce que vous ferez :


Gérer et exécuter les opérations de production par synthèse.

Créez des demandes d’achat et assurez-vous qu’elles en assurent le suivi.

Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les approvisionnements pour trouver des matériaux pour l’amélioration et le développement des produits.

Synthèse de produits.

Maintenir et optimiser la formulation tout au long de la production par lots, de la qualification et de la certification de la libération du produit.

Contrôle du processus et fonctionnement de la fabrication de lots en usine ou en laboratoire.

Valider les processus pour les exigences en matière d’environnement, de santé et de sécurité et proposer les modifications nécessaires pour se conformer aux réglementations gouvernementales locales mises à jour.

Tenir des registres des opérations de fabrication.

Planification de la maintenance et gestion des équipements nécessaires à la production/mixage.

Participer et agir comme point de référence pour la mise en œuvre/l’amélioration de nouveaux processus.

Gérer et superviser l’équipe de chimistes en formulation et s’assurer que les compétences sont prises en compte et développées par le biais d’un processus d’évaluation des compétences.


Vos principales compétences :


Baccalauréat en chimie ou en génie chimique.

3 ans d’expérience en tant que superviseur de production ou à un poste similaire sont exigés.

Une expérience de l’utilisation de divers types d’outils et d’équipements de fabrication, tels que des réacteurs à l’échelle de l’usine, des filtres-presses, des pompes, des condenseurs et des épurateurs, est exigée.

Expérience de l’utilisation d’équipements et d’outils de laboratoire.

Connaissance et mise en œuvre du système qualité ISO 17034

Règles de sécurité du site et responsabilités.

Résolveur de problèmes proactif avec un anglais et un français couramment écrits et parlés
