Job Summary

As the Director of Research & Development, with a direct reporting line to the Director of Supply Chain & Business Development, you will oversee the design, planning, and implementation of technical projects. Your role encompasses spearheading the development of technologies to yield tangible benefits and innovating in the formulation of advanced homecare and personal care products. You will also engage in reverse engineering existing formulations and pioneering cost-saving formulations for retailers, working closely with production and business development teams to achieve project objectives. Furthermore, you will communicate and deliver presentations on findings to both internal and external stakeholders.


Key responsibilities also involve developing formulations and chemistries for industrial, household cleaning, and personal care applications. Leading laboratory initiatives, monitoring industry trends, engaging with customers, and contributing to market strategy development are integral aspects of the role. Supporting manufacturing facilities with quality standards is another key responsibility.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the R&D team
  • Design, plan, and progress technical projects.
  • Develop technologies to deliver tangible benefits.
  • Formulate homecare and personal care products.
  • Reverse engineer formulations.
  • Initiate cost-saving formulations for retailers.
  • Collaborate with production, quality assurance and business development teams.
  • Lead laboratory projects and monitor trade literature.
  • Engage with customers and assist in market strategy development.
  • Support manufacturing facilities with quality standards.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master of Science in Chemistry, Polymer Science or other related discipline is preferred knowledge of surfactants and cleaning product formulating.
  • Excellent people and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Entrepreneurial and agile mindset fostering flexibility and creativity.
  • 5-10 years of industrial and Home Care formulation and technical experience, preferably with a major company active in cleaning market (Home Care, I&I).
  • 5+ experience in developing formulation and applications testing for home & personal care formulations is required.
  • Experience in dealing with direct customer and supplier technical support teams.
  • Must possess strong knowledge/experience in homecare and personal care products.
  • Strong background and experience in statistical experimental design and analysis, preferred.
