Job Summary

As the Director of Research & Development, reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain & Business Development, your role is to oversee the planning, design, and execution of technical projects. Your responsibilities include driving the development of technologies to generate concrete advantages and innovating in the creation of cutting-edge homecare and personal care products. You will also delve into reverse engineering existing formulations and pioneering cost-effective solutions for retailers, collaborating closely with production and business development teams to meet project goals. Additionally, you will be involved in presenting findings to internal and external stakeholders.

Key duties encompass formulating chemical compositions for industrial, household cleaning, and personal care uses. Leading laboratory projects, staying abreast of industry trends, interacting with clients, and contributing to market strategy formulation are crucial facets of the position. Ensuring manufacturing facilities adhere to quality criteria is another essential task.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise the R&D team
  • Plan, implement, and advance technical projects.
  • Create technologies to deliver tangible benefits.
  • Develop formulations for homecare and personal care products.
  • Reverse engineer existing formulations.
  • Initiate cost-effective solutions for retailers.
  • Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and business development teams.
  • Lead laboratory initiatives and keep track of industry trends.
  • Interact with customers and contribute to market strategy development.
  • Assist manufacturing facilities in meeting quality standards.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related field is preferred with knowledge of surfactants and cleaning product formulation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • An entrepreneurial and adaptable mindset fostering creativity and flexibility.
  • 5-10 years of experience in industrial and Home Care formulation and technical fields, preferably with a leading company in the cleaning market (Home Care, I&I).
  • 5+ years of experience in formulating and testing applications for home & personal care products.
  • Experience in engaging with technical support teams of customers and suppliers.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in homecare and personal care products.
  • A robust background in statistical experimental design and analysis is a plus.
