The Position:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager - PRO Beauty in our Beauty group supporting our Professional (PRO) division that markets products solely to the Hair Stylists and Barbers segment under the lead brand of BaBylissPRO. The Product Manager - PRO Beauty is accountable for overall management of product lines within designated categories in our Professional (PRO) division. The role incorporates strategic and tactical elements to support product strategy, new product launches, and marketing plans to achieve growth, revenue, and market share.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic product solutions to enhance the presence of the company’s professional branded products and achieve budgeted goals.
- Execute new product launches through the development of packaging, POP material, and other related support material.
- Formulate and execute plans related to specific product introductions and subsequent measurement of sales impact in the marketplace.
- Support the PRO division’s online sales (B2C and D2C) by providing all required product details, pricing, and promotional strategies; monitor performance to ensure success.
- Lead product presentations to internal sales teams and external customer base.
- Provide recommendations on all potential new product additions within categories and forecasting of new products.
- Maintain and develop sales material and product information sheets that explain all end-user features and benefits of the products.
- Collaborate on new products with overseas vendors.
- Participate in Product Line Reviews by understanding POS performance by retail banner, market research, gaps in a retailer’s assortment, identification of new opportunities, challenges, and solutions to those challenges.
- Perform ongoing review/analysis of products within categories, including inventory levels, while providing recommendations with respect to slow moving SKU’s.
- Understand market dynamics for assigned categories and perform ongoing review/analysis of the competitive marketplace related to trends and current / new products.
- Support sales in terms of product information, trends, samples, competitive information, and promotional strategies.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to develop and execute product promotions and campaigns.
- Prepare reports, reviews, and presentations.
- Attend / participate in trade events as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Marketing or Business.
- Minimum 4 - 6 years of product management / development experience with consumer packaged goods.
- Fluently bilingual (English/French)
- Experience in the beauty industry an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work well cross functionally and collaboratively.
- Ability to work independently and with initiative in a dynamic, team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adjust style, tone, and format according to the audience.
- Self-starter and able to take initiative.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
