Position Overview: The Auto Glass Technical Trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs for auto glass technicians. This role ensures that technicians have the skills and knowledge to perform high-quality repairs and replacements. The Auto Glass Technical Trainer will design training materials, conduct hands-on training sessions, and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Program Development: Create and update training manuals, modules, and other educational materials for auto glass repair and replacement.
  • Technical Training Delivery: Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions for both new hires and current technicians. Provide hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure the strict enforcement of all H&S rules.
  • Technical Expertise: Perform complex auto glass repairs and replacements. Provide technical support to the team and consult on difficult cases. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements.
  • Skill Assessment: Evaluate the skills and competencies of technicians through testing and observation. Provide feedback and additional training as needed to ensure high standards of performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices. Integrate the latest advancements into the training curriculum.
  • Travel: Be willing to travel to other provinces occasionally to train other technicians and support service operations.
  • Documentation: Maintain records of training sessions, participant progress, and certification completion. Generate reports on training outcomes and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in auto glass repair and replacement is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in auto glass repair and replacement, with a strong technical background.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, or teaching roles.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive training materials and conduct effective training sessions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in auto glass repair and replacement.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design techniques.
  • Proficiency in using training software and tools.
