Toronto, Canada Behaviour. An ideas company. Full time

About Us

Since November 2012, we have provided brand strategy, ideas, and winning marketing programs for the country’s biggest and most respected brands. Our small, but impressive client roster includes: OLG, TELUS, Pepsico, Harvey’s, and more.

BEHAVIOUR is an ideas company that believes what a brand does is far more important than what a brand says. BEHAVIOUR specializes in defining brands through their actions, rather than their words. The marketing landscape has changed drastically, and it is no longer viable to create a 30 second spot, buy some media, and hope to build connections with consumers. Today, brands need to express meaningful values through carefully crafted behaviour. We believe that this is the most compelling way to build distinctive brands in a cluttered marketplace.

Job Description:

This is a full time 3 month contract position.

At Behaviour, Producers must perpetually strike a delicate balance between practical management of budget and timeline and fostering the conditions that elevate creative work. They are driven to produce and oversee best-in-class production across various media. This encompasses the creation and management of campaigns spanning a range of mediums, including film, photography, experiential, and digital formats, while also maintaining robust relationships with creative teams, accounts, and vendors.

This individual must be a nimble producer, unafraid of adapting to shifting timelines and budgets, and capable of managing projects that require a more hands-on approach. They should possess the ability to anticipate challenges and the foresight to devise solutions.

Responsibilities:

●     Work closely with creative teams, including ECD, Art Directors, Copywriters, and Designers, to produce top-quality initiatives.

●     Assist in developing execution plans, reviewing, and editing project and production plans.

●     Oversee production activities by directing staff and external parties involved in casting, location scouting, and shooting.

●     Efficiently produce estimates and timelines in a fast-paced agency environment.

●     Upon receiving creative and budget approval, contract a variety of vendors. Ensure the original vision is implemented by sourcing suitable vendors and talent for the project's needs.

●     Lead the creation of workbacks, production schedules, run of show, project documents, and organize relevant information.

●     Source and negotiate with vendors, manage bidding and estimates, adhere to company billing policies, and clearly communicate any scope changes affecting the budget.

●     Supervise the production and fabrication of program elements, ensuring quality control at all stages.

●     Manage financials and budgets, ensuring accurate reconciliations.

●     Research, propose, and assist in selecting event sites, acquiring permits and licenses, and executing site checks.

●     Advise production logistics, including transport and shipping, loading and unloading, vehicle and trailer maintenance, inventory, storage, and warehousing.

●     Provide onsite event management, directing labor staff, serving as the main vendor contact, procuring necessary equipment, scheduling load-in/out, overseeing setup and teardown, managing logistics, warehousing, and conducting wrap-up and debrief sessions.

●     Manage multiple concurrent project teams, including Creative Teams, Account Services, Strategists, Production Partners, and related vendors.

●     Communicate project status and other required reports effectively and proactively.

●     Attention to detail, managing vendor and freelance paperwork, onboarding, contracts, as well as submitting invoices and ensuring timely vendor payments.

Qualifications:

●     Experience working with production set-ups and understand the operations of cameras, sound systems and editing systems

●     Effective communicator, and understand verbal and written communication

●     Good people manager and able to mentor team members

●     10+ years of experience working on set in film, TV, stage or commercial productions

●     Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks

●     You should be creative, adaptable, and resourceful, as well as knowledgeable about the latest trends and technologies in the film industry

●     A degree in film production, media studies, or a related field preferred but not required
