Are you an expert in automation control systems looking to make an impact in the manufacturing sector? Element5 is seeking a dedicated Controls Specialist to join our team in St. Thomas


In this role, you will be responsible for all plant floor-related automation control systems, supporting daily activities, implementing system changes in partnership with equipment vendors, and managing system standards and incident management.


Shift (Onsite): Monday - Thursday | 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM


Role/Responsibilities:

  • Support manufacturing in achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in maintenance and operations.
  • Implement best practices and ensure compliance in execution.
  • Coach and train manufacturing personnel to enhance their expertise.
  • Improve and sustain the uptime of designated machine centers through preventative and continual maintenance.
  • Champion product quality, workmanship methods, and processes to meet internal and customer requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to Element5 safety policies, manufacturing procedures, and workplace policies.
  • Provide input to management for cost reduction, work simplification, scheduling, and other continuous improvement measures.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in controls systems; manufacturing experience is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering or Science with a technical background preferred.
  • Proficiency in Siemens Control Systems is an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership abilities and experience coaching teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and integrity.


Working Conditions:

  • Physical Effort: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Physical Environment: Exposure to dust and noise.
  • Sensory Attention: Required for various tasks.
