THE ROLE Keep our Canadian Armed Forces operationally ready and their families and military community healthy as part of the team at Personnel Support Programs.
Personnel Support Programs contributes to the operational readiness of our Canadian Armed Forces through the provision of fitness, sports, recreation and health promotion programs to military communities across Canada and members while on deployment.
Under the supervision of the Aquatic and Recreation Coordinator, the aqua fitness instructor plans, organizes and delivers aqua fitness classes. They will prepare class schedules, design programs and assist with advertising and public relations. Record, monitor and report program attendance. Prepare, distribute and submit evaluation forms, as required. Provide lifestyle awareness information. Liaise with outside organizations to ensure latest updates/trends are introduced to the program. Maintain current level of certification and abilities required to conduct aqua fitness classes. Assist in the design of aqua fitness programs and implement changes as required.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma and some years of experience conducting aquafitness classes
Fitness Leaders Certification - Aquafitness module
Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
Experience
In planning, organizing, and delivering aquafitness classes
In monitoring and controlling large groups of participants
In ensuring safety protocols and procedures
In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail and Internet browsing
Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
