Job Description 

Our HP Indigo Press Operators are responsible for the operation of our digital printing presses. As a crucial step of the artwork and production process, this role requires extremely close attention to detail and a drive to provide optimal products for our clients. We are willing to train the right candidate with less experience. Out of country applicants will be considered. 

 

Skills & Experience 

  • 3-5 years of machine or printing press operation experience; 
  • Experience working with HP Indigo digital printing presses is a significant asset; 
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly; 
  • Impressive attention to detail; 
  • Excellent communication skills; 
  • A great attitude in the workplace; 
  • Experience troubleshooting a variety of production concerns; 
  • As passion for continuously improving company processes; 
  • Previous experience with Nulogy or other ERP systems an asset. 

Responsibilities 

  • Operate HP Indigo digital printing press, trouble-shooting inconsistencies, paying extremely close attention to machine outputs, quality control, and variances, while always optimizing press running time 
  • Set up printing press for various types of film material, based on various specifications 
  • Ensure accuracy of prints, colours, and barcodes 
  • Manage machine tooling, general machine maintenance, replace parts, and report issues or potential future issues to management 
  • Take an active learning role for company product knowledge and allowable variances 
  • Maintain various reports, compliance paperwork, and work logs 
  • Follow appropriate naming conventions, shorthand and notes to complete logs 
  • Provide feedback on new materials and processes from an efficiency and sustainability perspective 
  • Keep a clean, organized and safe work area 
  • Work as part of the team to ensure deliverables are met, ensuring proper communication between production teams 
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all production staff 
  • All other duties related to press operation and maintenance, as required
