Operations Manager

Drake International is hiring for a Data Center Operations Manager for our client in Grand Falls, NB.
We are looking for an engaged and hands-on leader In this role you will, together with your team, be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of our data center infrastructure by reporting to the Management team.
This is a full time, permanent position
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage day-to-day activities and site operations in a 24x7 operating environment.
• Collaborate with operations monitoring center.
• Working in a changing environment and ensure that daily routines and procedures are up to date and guarantees operational excellence.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as hardware upgrades, equipment installations, and cable management to ensure optimal performance of the data center.
• Monitor data center infrastructure including servers, storage systems, and networking equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers for equipment repairs, replacements, and upgrades as necessary.
• Maintain accurate documentation of data center assets, configurations and procedures.
• Assist in the implementation of new technologies and systems within the data center environment. • Adhere to security protocols and best practices to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data stored in the data center.
• Ensure proper security measures for the workplace and the network infrastructure
• Maintain logs for service and maintenance on deployed assets.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3 + years of experience in data center operations, including hands-on experience with server hardware, networking equipment, cabling and storage systems.
• Understanding of IT systems, data communication equipment and cabling.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues.
• Hands-on with entrepreneurial mindset, startup experience is an asset.
• Comfortable directing and supporting a team of technicians in a 24x7 operating environment.
• Knowledge of data center best practices, standards, and protocols.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and work in physically demanding environments
