Job DescriptionThe Management Information Systems department (SIO) at the Faculty of Business Administration of Université Laval is inviting applications from qualified candidates with a Ph.D. in administration, or in an equivalent field, with a specialization in information systems for a faculty position at the open rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor starting June 1st, 2025. Responsibilities include:
- Teach MIS courses to undergraduate, master's and doctoral students.
- Conduct research in management information systems and/or related subjects.
- Supervise graduate and doctoral students and actively participate in continuing education activities.
- Contribute to the life of the department, school and university.
- Develop ties with the academic and business communities.
Candidates must:
- Hold a Ph.D. degree in business administration with a specialization in management information systems or equivalent. Candidates in the process of completing their doctoral studies will also be considered.
- Have an excellent research publication record or demonstrate a strong potential for future publications.
- Demonstrate research interests compatible with those of the SIO department.
- During a presentation to the department, the candidate should demonstrate the ability to transmit research results effectively and explain their scientific and practical implications.
- Demonstrate the ability to secure research funding.
- Be able to teach in the areas put forward by the SIO department.
- Demonstrate the ability to deliver high quality teaching.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain ties with the academic and the practitioner communities.
- Be able to teach courses in French within a short period after the start date. Candidates who currently do not speak French are still encouraged to apply. If selected, these candidates will be given 2 to 3 years to learn the language.
- Be familiar with the other disciplines in business administration.
- Demonstrate the ability and interest to work in a multidisciplinary collaborative environment, and to ensure an active presence on campus.
