Under the guidance and supervision of Senior Portfolio Managers:


  • You will work closely with our clients to build long-term relationships and deliver the high-touch discretionary investment services that they have come to expect of our firm.
  • Act as a member of the Investment Committee and conduct security specific and sector research to assist our firm with meeting “Know Your Product” (“KYP”) obligations. You will learn and consider our firm’s investment philosophy and assess tax efficiency, trading costs and other factors when assisting with the decision-making process.
  • You will assist in portfolio construction, rebalancing strategies and trade execution, including pre-trade and post-trade analysis to ensure portfolios are managed within their investment objectives.
  • Assist with charging client fees and a range of recurring monthly and quarterly tasks to upkeep the firm and compliance obligations.
  • You will generate and analyze performance and risk reports while using multiple management systems.
  • Assist with our quarterly reporting and corporate reorganization processes, and complete ad hoc project work.


Qualifications:


  • BCom, Finance or MBA, Finance or similar is an asset.
  • Pursuing or passed CFA Level I exam or the CIM designation is an asset.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, organization and attention to detail.
  • The ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage a wide variety of duties.
  • Ability to maintain the highest standards in any task, even when working with strict deadlines.
  • A natural aptitude for providing top-tier service and fostering relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Adherence to high ethical standards and ability to stay mindful of compliance obligations while performing tasks.


The ideal candidate will be a positive and energetic professional, who is able to work cooperatively with our team, and independently if required. The candidate must be committed to client service and able to assist with day-to-day operational tasks and client requests, as well as follow up on ongoing projects over long periods of time. Applicants must be able to effectively communicate with and facilitate requests from a variety of stakeholders. Candidates should be excited to learn about the company and its operations as a whole, as many client requests and processes will involve communication and collaborative work with staff members in other departments. The chosen applicant will be required to work from our office located in downtown Edmonton.
