Adecco is working with a client in the GTA supporting both private and public geotechnical and structural consulting projects across North America to hire a Geotechnical Field Representative.

With a wealth of experience exceeding 100 years, their dedicated team offers on-site geotechnical engineering expertise and extensive laboratory testing. The team plays a vital role in providing practical assistance and recommendations for the design and testing of construction projects. The company is experiencing rapid growth.

Location: Ontario

Role and Responsibilities

• Perform topographic surveys of existing site conditions (non-legal survey).

• Conduct field electrical resistivity surveys for engineering design.

• Coordinate and oversee subsurface investigations, including overburden drilling, rock coring, and test pit investigation. Communicate findings to Project Management and ensure proper soil sampling protocols for subsequent laboratory testing.

• Supervise various pile installations and conduct load testing programs for detailed pile design, ensuring equipment and test apparatus meet appropriate design requirements.

• Conduct Construction QA/QC Inspections to verify that foundations adhere to design requirements.

• Coordinate with utility locators, sub-contractor representatives, and other on-site personnel. • Assist in mobilization and demobilization of project-related equipment.

• Organize project-related notes/drawings in accordance with Project Manager requirements. • Support data entry and analysis of load test curves for detailed pile design. • Assist in preparing field books and ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements.

• Contribute to general data entry, analysis, and document preparation. • Collect environmental samples (soil and water) for chemical assessment in support of construction activities.

• Support other environmental scopes of work as required. • Communicate field observations or equipment needs to the Project Manager.

• Adhere to Health & Safety responsibilities under all applicable government legislations and company policies and procedures.

• Undertake other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Prior experience in piling, geotechnical investigations, and soil classification is advantageous.
• Ability to interpret project plans and other project-related drawings.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic team environment.
• Flexible, well-organized, interested in technical and personal advancement, capable of carrying out assignments with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and proactively responding to time-sensitive issues.
• Must have a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage and possess a Valid Driver's License.
• Willingness to travel and work in a combination of field and office settings.
• Candidates should have completed a two or three-year program in civil engineering technology, geotechnical, or geological diploma and be eligible to receive a professional designation such as C.E.T./C.Tech.
