Reporting to the Senior Director, your main tasks will be to work on projects supplying geotechnical exploratory, design, forensic, laboratory testing, construction management and inspection/testing services to Energy, Institutional, Transportation, Industrial, Commercial, Communication, and Residential clients.

Your Contribution

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will work in collaboration with the Geotechnical team

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules
  • Manage multiple geotechnical and geo-materials projects, including client and contractor management, geotechnical evaluation and problem solving, report preparation and review, and preparation of proposals and invoices;
  • Schedule and manage project staff, laboratory and field testing;
  • Conduct geotechnical assessment utilizing computer aided design and analysis software;
  • Conduct site visits and investigations to evaluate difficult conditions and assist field staff;
  • Familiarity with Ontario O.Reg. 406 regulations would be considered an asset;
  • Experience with both shallow and deep foundations would be considered an asset;
  • Keen and detailed analytical skills to carry out Geotechnical investigative assignments;
  • Assist in managing, training, and mentoring technical personnel and more junior professional staff;

Your Profile

  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized university;
  • Member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO);
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical and/or geo-materials engineering;
  • Local project experience in both soil and rock conditions;
  • Motivated to provide excellent client service and enjoy working in a team environment;
  • Strong communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized university;
  • Member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO);
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical and/or geo-materials engineering;
