Position: Traffic Coordinator
Location: Kapuskasing , ON (Papermill)
Kap Paper Inc. is looking for a logistics expert to manage the transportation and logistics administration to ensure customer service and administrative compliance. As an integral part of the Logistics team you will ensure safe and efficient delivery to customers.

Review CN site weekly and communicate to Production Planner and Customer Service Supervisor. Provide updates on empty Car Report daily along with Inbound report. Input in database to identify rail vehicle numbers. Reviews demurrage report issued by Ontario Northland Railway (ONR) provides to Logistics Manager for payment furtherance. Update rail rates and fuel surcharge into database. Updates rail rates and fuel surcharge into database. Trace and divert incoming and outgoing shipments as requested by Sales, Customer Service and Purchasing. Prepares and issues warehouse car history report and advises CSRs of railcars idle beyond 24 hours along with incorrectly ordered railcars. Ability to prepare freight claims for damage, loss or over payment of invoices and provide responses and follow up on customer complaints related to traffic issues. Requires RWC from ONR and enter new routes into systems as required by Customer Service.Prepares monthly freight statistics regarding commodity, routing, origin, destination, and weight on all vehicle movements. Maintain rate guide containing accurate freight rates and issue to CSRs on a monthly basis. Maintain up to date report of all extra charges from carriers. Ensures the supply of adequate truck equipment to cover shipments of finished product.’ Verify weekly truck requirements based on production forecast vs. tenders. Updates truck rates and fuel surcharges and maintains up to date voluntary report for all truck shipment activities after reconciliation and provides to Supervisor, Customer Service. Prepares and processes freight invoices for approval according to contracts and agreed upon freight rates. Expedites railcar loading for on time shipping. Monitors the movement of incoming chemical tank cars and provides on track report of all chemical cars loaded to the Cost dept and warehouse service. Releases cars with appropriate documentation to remain compliant with health and safety and transportation guidelines and requirements
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or Logistics 3+ years experience in transportation and logistics in an industrial environment. Knowledge of transportation and logistics principles. Business acumen, sound judgement, strong analytical skills. Attention to detail, with strong financial acumen. Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Bilingual: English and French (spoken and written) – an asset.-
