Robert Half is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant with an eye for accuracy to fill a short-term contract / temporary position at a growing company. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Responsibilities

- Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

- Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision

- Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings

- Take part in various department-wide initiatives

- Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner

- Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules

- Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

- Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

- Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
- Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

- High attention to detail

- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

- Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

- Journal entries experience

- Proficiency in bank reconciliations

- Demonstrated knowledge of NetSuite

- SAP experience highly preferred

- General ledger experience preferred

- Practical knowledge of QuickBooks

- General familiarity with Oracle

- Adeptness in month end closings

- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

- Competent with spreadsheets and databases

- 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

- Proficient in ERP systems

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
