Currently, our Quality division is hiring a Supplier Surveillance Technologist. The Supplier Surveillance Technologist is responsible for surveillance activities on the manufacturers of equipment, materials and services purchased by Supply Chain in Canada, the United States and overseas, to assess trends and ensure that the vendor is meeting contract specifications and prepare final surveillance reports. They also perform receipt (incoming inspections) activities as per Bruce Power requirements.

This is a permanent, full-time position which offers a competitive benefits, compensation and pension package and is located on site in Tiverton, Ontario.

What will you be responsible for?

Perform the product verification, procedure compliance and delivery conformance activities defined by these plans

Plan, organize and prioritize assignments to ensure the work is carried out in a timely, effective and efficient manner

Witness tests to ensure test equipment and methods are correct and acceptable

Take appropriate action to correct problems and prevent recurrence

Perform ongoing assessment of vendors' quality programs on the vendor`s site

Utilize surveillance plans when performing source inspections

Knowledge and Skills

Inspection procedures, processes, devices and aids in manufacturing and nuclear power plant environment

Inspection concepts and principles including the ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings, specifications, procedures and manuals

Electrical, electronic or mechanical theory including circuits and systems, mathematics, chemistry, physics, metallurgy, engineering drawings, shop practices mechanics and welding

Able to perform quality surveillance of vendors' facilities, products, materials, systems and operations with limited supervision

Strong communication skills both written and verbal

Proactive problem solving with a high-quality work ethic

Education and Experience

Successful completion of Grade XII in a Secondary, Commercial or Technical School plus a 3-year course of concentrated post-secondary education in mechanical or electrical studies

Planning inspections, examinations and tests of mechanical, electrical, metal and composite materials, parts and assemblies

Evaluating the validity and acceptability of Inspection, test results and Quality Assurance program implementation

Interaction, development and maintaining positive relationships with clients and external regulators

Nuclear Pressure Boundary experience is an asset
