Senior Analyst – Global Multi-Asset Strategies

We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst to join the Global Multi-Asset Strategies team in Toronto. The team is structured in four key areas: i) Active Strategies, ii) Absolute Return Strategies, iii) Risk Mitigation and iv) Balance Sheet Management. The Global Multi-Asset Strategies team employs a holistic approach to its alpha-generating strategies, applying both quantitative and fundamental techniques.

The Senior Analyst will be responsible for supporting the balance sheet management mandate, which includes implementing strategic asset mix decisions through passive strategies, recommending dynamic asset allocation opportunities through a combination of quantitative modeling and qualitative research, as well as optimizing balance sheet levers to deliver OMERS long-term return objectives. Additional responsibilities include expanding analytics toolkits for balance sheet analysis, investment research efforts, and idea generation. This role will also help foster relationships with other investment teams and business partners to support OMERS ONE Balance Sheet approach.

Your skills and experiences include:

5+ years of relevant industry experience in capital markets/balance sheet management/portfolio management/portfolio construction/asset allocation

Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships and understanding the importance of a well-functioning team to be successful

Strong academic background preferably in Math, Statistics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. CFA designation is an asset

Exceptional analytical, quantitative, research and financial modeling skills with the ability to generate insights and think holistically at a portfolio level

Proficiency in data base management (e.g. SQL) and investment software packages (e.g. Python, C#)

Highly analytical mindset and excellent attention to details

Self-motivated with a strong drive to learn more and deliver positive results

Effective written and verbal communication skills
