Your Opportunity:

In this position, the Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker will provide support to the clients of the Addiction and Mental Health Outreach team. You will engage community members, facilitate referrals and support follow-up with clients. You will work closely with Addiction counsellors, Mental Health Therapists and Nurses to assist clients in carrying out their care plans. You will help the client reach their goals as they are on their journey of recovery. The Addiction and Mental Health Outreach team works in the heart of the community with many community partner agencies. A challenging and rewarding opportunity awaits.

Description:

As an Addiction and Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will contribute to the delivery of community based services to persons with a chronic addiction and/or severe and persistent mental illness using psychosocial rehabilitation principles, promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. Your duties will include carrying out assigned tasks in a client focused recovery plan which includes support to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities, and educational and employment activities. You will work collaboratively with other health and service providers. In this position, you will work under the direction of a regulated health provider.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Engaging, with strong communication skills. Previous experience working with addiction and/or mental health clients. Experience working in an outreach capacity.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of trauma-informed care.
