Description:
The Senior Practice Consultant is a provincial role reporting to the Director – Improving Health Outcomes Together (IHOT), in the Quality and Healthcare Improvement portfolio. IHOT’s portfolio supports Alberta Health Services pursue its mission, vision and strategic goals. This position is responsible for collaborating with IHOT stakeholders and sponsors in addressing clinical appropriateness initiatives across the organization.The Senior Practice Consultant:Has five or more years clinical experience in clinical areas related to Lab, Pharmacy, or DI related expertise. Builds rapport and professional relationships with medical and operational leadership, subject matter experts, quality improvement, and administrative staff of the program areas / teams with which IHOT partners. Provides leadership, expertise, and hands on project management support as needed through all phases of the project lifecycle in partnership with project teams. Provides consulting expertise in engagement, change management, quality improvement, and design thinking to support the development of specific goals and related actions to achieve results consistent with the Quadruple Aim (better care, better patient experience, better provider experience and better value). Ensures clear communication channels regarding progress updates, key performance indicator reporting, risk escalation, etc. with key partners related to individual projects. Is recognized as a professional expert within the organization and anticipates internal and/or external business challenges, identifies and recommends process or service improvements, and uses a high degree of resourcefulness and independent judgment to determine solutions.
Required Qualifications:A baccalaureate degree is required.

Master's degree preferred in a health-related area and/or business are of equivalent preparation. A combination of related experience and education may be considered. Formal training in project and/or change management methodologies an asset (ex-Project Management Professional PMP designation, PROSCI, Lean 6 Sigma, Alberta Improvement Way, etc.).
