Role Overview 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with food safety standards and regulations, maintaining our SQF certification, and supporting general office operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities 

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct regular inspections of incoming and outgoing food products to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures in accordance with SQF certification guidelines.
  • Monitor and document temperature controls, sanitation practices, and product handling procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve any quality-related issues or customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions as needed.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist with the development and updating of quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate training sessions for employees on food safety protocols and quality control measures.
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing quality performance metrics and trends.
  • Support management in maintaining and renewing SQF certification.

General Office Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to various departments, including answering phones, managing emails, and scheduling appointments.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering office supplies and maintaining stock levels.
  • Coordinate meetings and events, including arranging travel and accommodations when necessary.
  • Assist with data entry and recordkeeping tasks as needed. 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in quality assurance or food safety in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQF, HACCP, or other food safety management systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record and analyze data.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with database management software.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
