Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, cook, and present Italian dishes with a focus on quality, taste, and authenticity
  • Develop and update the menu in collaboration with the head chef, focusing on traditional and innovative Italian dishes
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Ensure all food preparation meets Gusto’s standards for portioning, presentation, and timing
  • Source, select, and use high-quality ingredients to ensure the authentic taste of Italian cuisine
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage food waste to optimize costs
  • Provide input on seasonal menus, new recipes, and daily specials
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring they uphold Gusto’s standards
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an Italian cook or in a similar role in an Italian restaurant
  • Strong knowledge of Italian culinary techniques, ingredients, and recipes
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-paced environment and handle multiple orders
  • Understanding of kitchen health and safety regulations
  • A creative approach to food presentation and flavor pairing
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
