Cenovus is recruiting for a Program Cost Controls Advisor to join our team

Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance & Reliability Costing, the Program Cost Control Advisor is responsible for providing program level cost control for Upstream Oilsands Operational drivers. The successful individual would be self-motivated, possess strong problem skills, and thrives in a collaborative environment.

What you’ll do:

Develop and monitoring cost tracking, control protocols, systems, and workflow processes.Develop yearly/multi-year long range maintenance plans and annual budgeting exercisesDefine and track key performance indicators related to scope control, cost management and evaluate project performance against established benchmarks.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather accurate cost data and provide detailed monthly cost estimates and forecasts.Monitor and analyze cost variances, providing timely reports and recommendations to optimize driver budget management.Manage monthly cost reports, spend profiles, change management, KPIs, estimates/accruals and other related deliverables.Generate regular progress reports, highlighting key achievements, value capture, challenges, and recommended corrective actions.Quantify risks and opportunities and support development of mitigation plans as required.Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost control effectiveness.Communicate cost management strategies and update internal and external partners, fostering transparency and collaboration.Collaborate with Site Leadership, Execution Teams, Engineering, and other team members to align cost management with overall annual budget and business goals.

Who you are:

Must be legally entitled to work in CanadaA minimum of 8+ years’ experience working in business analytics and cost controls is required.Experience working in oil and gas is preferredA bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Managerial Accounting or Finance is requiredPMP or MMP designations would be considered an assetHigh level understanding of maintenance structure and workflows is considered an assetProven track record to plan, coordinate efforts and drive partner engagementExcellent project management, scheduling, and time management skills with expert knowledge of Microsoft ExcelExperience in data analytics using tools such as Microsoft BI and or Spotfire would be an assetWorking knowledge of SAP, Primavera and Spotfire is an asset.Well-developed communication, and interpersonal skillsCapable of working independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary teamPositive safety attitude and crucial thinkingExcellent time, organization, and priority management skills
