Heavy Equipment Operators ( 18-month work terms)

We are looking for multi-skilled  Heavy Equipment Operators  responsible for operating and monitoring mobile equipment to support Surface Operations to ensure maximum production rates in a safe and efficient manner. The Equipment Operator primary responsibilities will be operating a range of different heavy equipment. This is done under the direct supervision of the Surface Operations Supervisor or designate.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Surface Operations you will be working a 2 weeks on /2 weeks off rotation that includes working weekends and holidays. Options for over time are possible during the busy summer period. The rotations will consist of 12-hour daily shifts.

What you’ll bring

Possession of a class 5 driver’s license. Proficient literacy skills essential for comprehending manuals and written directives. Ideally, a minimum of five years’ experience as a multi-skilled / versatile heavy equipment operator. Over two years’ expertise operating Excavators within a mining setting, including EX2600 & EX1200. Proven ability to operate equipment efficiently and safely such as, 16H Grader, D10/D6 Dozer, Komatsu articulating trucks, Komatsu 785 and 40t Excavator is advantageous. Competence in safely and effectively operating various heavy machinery in Surface Operations. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills. Capacity to take initiative and collaborate effectively within a team or independently. Upholds high standards of conduct and exhibits ethical work practices. Displays cultural sensitivity and awareness. Shows dedication to both the Company and the role, prioritizing safety. Exhibits traits of respectfulness, self-motivation, discipline, and understands the importance of confidentiality in professional and personal matters.

Northern residency and experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the North, are assets.
