Position Details

The ULethbridge Career Bridge Centre for Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) and Career Development is seeking a full-time (continuing) WIL Instructor. The start date for the position is August 3rd, 2024.Combining academic programs, career services, and the My Experience Transcript platform, Career Bridge is a multifaceted team of experts and service providers working together to support WIL, Experiential learning (EL), and Career Development across campus. Applicants should hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree is preferred). Demonstrated experience as a WIL practitioner and/or WIL scholarship is preferred, with a particular emphasis on disciplinary expertise in business, human resources, accounting, Indigenous governance, and/or Indigenous ways of teaching and learning. Applicants must possess excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills, public speaking, teaching, and presentation skills; a demonstrated passion for work-integrated learning; a proven ability to solve problems collaboratively as well as to work effectively within shifting deadlines and priorities. Some travel is required.The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Academic Director, and in collaboration with the Career Bridge team including the career services team, the My Experience Transcript (MET) advisor, and internal and external stakeholder groups. A WIL Instructor’s role includes teaching, evaluation, assessment, recruitment, student supervision and relationship management of WIL program partners. WIL instructors will engage in curriculum development and WIL/EL scholarship and professional development. Responsibilities will include partnership development, program administrative duties and participation in faculty council, committees, and University events.Key responsibilities include: Teach courses in the Applied Studies program: Including disciplinary credit, credit, and not-for-credit options; and in the School of Liberal Education Community Industry Research Project (CIRPS ) courses Admission courses, Work Term Co-op work term courses Teach Career Bridge Centre Professional Development Curriculum as required Commitment to authentic learning and assessment, innovative teaching and learning practices and continuous quality improvement Assessment of student work and grade assignment in WIL programs Advise students and provide partner support and partner relationship management Act in the capacity of a “Faculty Champion” in WIL/EL to support and faculty engagement in WIL, WIL consultation and the WIL Strategic Plan (both institutional and departmental) Duties as assigned by the Academic Director or Deputy Provost The University of Lethbridge invites applications from all qualified candidates; however, in accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given preference.The University of Lethbridge is committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, including through all aspects of the hiring process.
