Position Details

The ULethbridge School of Graduate Studies invites applications from students registered for co-operative education for a full-time, limited-term Graduate Funding Assistant (AUPE Grade 6) position to begin work August 15, 2024 for a term ending April 30, This position will be for eight months, with the possibility of extension.) Applications for terms ending December 31, 2024 may also be considered.

Graduate student funding is a vital part of the student experience at all levels and is a crucial component in the administration of many activities within the institution. Creating and communicating clear information that is accessible to students, award reviewers, Graduate Assistantship coordinators, staff administrators, and other members of the ULethbridge community is key to ensuring the continued success of the institution.

In this role the successful candidate will: Document internal processes related to graduate student funding and employment: Assist in carrying out internal process related to graduate student funding and employment; Manage various email inquiries related to graduate student funding and employment; Maintain and update web content; Assist with and provide administrative support for various graduate award adjudication committees; Other duties, as assigned. The University of Lethbridge is undertaking a job classification review for Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) positions. As such, the classification level currently assigned for this position may be adjusted as a result of this project. Position Qualifications The successful candidate must be eligible for a co-op placement as part of their program of study.

Education:
An undergraduate degree is preferred with post-secondary education in a relevant field.

Skills:
The ideal candidate will: Be a senior undergraduate student or graduate student. Note that this is a co-op position, so the student must be in a program that permits this. Possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Have strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders. Have an ability to prioritize tasks and focus on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Have excellent computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite. Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $3, $4,036.00 monthly Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE) $3, $4,422.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 6)
