Description


Position Title: Oil Burner Technician
Team and Location: Commercial – Stellarton, NS or Truro, NS
Salary Range: $32-$34 per hour
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Service Manager, the Oil Heating Technician will be responsible for safely completing service, maintenance and installations for oil heating equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install oil burner components such as nozzles and fuel pumps
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning oil equipment, their components and controls
  • Replace oil tank accessories such as tank gauges, fill pipes, oil line and deaerators.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service on oil heating equipment
  • Test installed units and adjust controls for proper functioning;
  • Administrative duties such as ordering parts, completion of work orders and invoicing, and assisting with shop related duties
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum of Class 5A license with a clean drivers abstract
  • Red Seal Oil Heat Systems Technician license
  • Knowledge of CSA B 139 Oil Codes
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven leadership ability
  • This position is a safety sensitive and will require pre-employment testing
  • Flexible working hours including overtime is required
