Ecommerce Advisor – Indigenous

We’re looking for enthusiastic recent graduates and post-secondary students who are interested in digital commerce and passionate about working within their communities

Hourly Rate: $20/hour (salaried based)

In this role, the Ecommerce Advisor will workone-on-one with First Nations, Indigenous and Inuit owned business owners to help overcome the challenges of digital transformation and succeed in the “new normal” of commerce. The Canada Digital Adoption team will be composed of digital innovators, with the proven ability to build meaningful connections and lead through change.

The Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB) has partnered with Mosaic to deliver the Canada Digital Adoption Program. CCAB is a national Indigenous, non-partisan association. Its mission is to promote, strengthen and enhance a prosperous Indigenous economy through the fostering of business relationships, opportunities, and awareness. CDAP is designed to assist small business owners with digital transformation and is part of a Government of Canada initiative profiled in the media recently by The Globe and Mail and the Prime Minister of Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you’ll receive training such as Facebook, Google, Lightspeed, Mastercard, Shopify, Square Online and more, equipping you to support small businesses with growing their businessonline. A combination of interactive modules, on-demand webinars, and online courses over 35 hours of onboarding will prepare you, as an eCommerce Advisor, to provide:

  • Consultations on eCommerce platform solutions

  • 1:1 support building and launching a customized online store

  • Education on cybersecurity and readiness planning

  • Training on how to build a digital marketing plan

QUALIFICATIONS

Mandatories requirements:

  • Self-identify as Indigenous and/or Experience working with Indigenous (First Nations, Metis, Inuit) communities orbackground in Indigenous or Cultural studies

  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or a permanent resident

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Must have a valid Social Insurance Number

  • MUST be available to work all days of Work: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm

  • MUSTbe comfortable with the wage: $ an hour paid as salary based on 40 hours a week

  • MUST be fully available for all dates of the contract: June 17 th , December13 th , 2024

An Indigenous person is a North American Indian or a member of a First Nation, Métis, or an Inuit. North American Indians or members of First Nation include status, treaty, or registered Indians, as well as non-status and non-registered Indians. You will only be screened into this staffing process if you self-identify as an Indigenous person and/or have working/schooling Indigenous experience

Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate (have graduated inthe past 3 years)

  • If currently enrolled in post-secondary it must be with a Canadian institution

  • Be a top tier communicator (written and verbal)

  • Proven ability to create meaningful relationships and nurture those relationships over time

  • Possess excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Demonstrated success in a client facing customer service roles

  • Be familiar with digital technologies for small business ( web, social media, e-commerce)

  • Must have access to a computer/laptop as this is a fully remote role

The below would be considered a s trong asset:

  • Previous examples of success with eCommerce platforms

  • Experience with marketing or client management
