Toronto, Canada Sinai Health Full time

Job Description

Are you ready to take on a challenging and rewarding role that encompasses multiple parts of the perinatal journey? As a Nurse Practitioner in Mount Sinai Hospital's Women's and Infants' Health program, you'll experience a unique rotation between Labor & Delivery triage and postpartum care. This is a unique opportunity enabling you to rotate between these two areas, which will hone your skills in clinical assessment, fetal monitoring, and comprehensive patient education. With our renowned high-risk obstetrical program, you'll also have the chance to manage complex cases and develop specialized skills, setting you apart as a leader in the field of women's and infants’ health.

Is this you?

You are energized by the distinct rhythms of both Labor & Delivery triage and postpartum care. You are adept at shifting gears between the fast-paced demands of triage — where quick assessment, clear communication, and decisive action are paramount — and the more intimate setting of postpartum recovery, where patient education, emotional support, and a keen eye for detail are essential. You are empathetic and compassionate, enabling you to build trust and rapport, fostering a supportive environment for women and infants during vulnerable times.

You are a natural leader, eager to take initiative and contribute to positive education and mentorship within a dynamic clinical setting. Your teaching and mentorship skills will sharpen as you educate staff and patients, supervise advanced nursing students, and engage in professional development activities.

You approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset and are excited by the prospect of shaping the future of our women's and infants' health team. Here, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving patient care standards, focusing on preventing and managing obstetrical complications. These leadership abilities will prove essential for any candidate who is considering a path towards administrative or managerial roles within health care.
