To Apply for this Job Click HereOur Canadian client has a contract opportunity for a Data Analyst whose main function of a Data Analyst is to coordinate changes to computer databases, test, and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems.  
  • Midnight shift requirement must be flexible to any shifts.

 

Job Description:

  • We are looking to fill a “Control Room Analyst” position within Global Supply Chain, on the Production Control Team working out of Oshawa Assembly location.
  • The Control Room Analyst monitors and analyzes order flow through assembly plant and serves as primary point of contact for a variety of plant floor requests and issues related to production processes and information control systems.
  • Work is primarily in an office environment and shift work is required.

 

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor production GEPICS (global enterprise information control system) and ensure optimal performance
  • Troubleshooting and providing technical support to production and 3rd party organizations as needed
  • Provide training and administrative support to users of production information control system
  • Responsible for running batch jobs to sequence vehicle orders, perform vehicle build data updates
  • Maintain, monitor batch jobs in mainframe and production information control systems
  • Create, update, and maintain system reporting and documentation
  • Verify, report out daily production numbers
  • Track expedited orders through assembly
  • Coordinate and execute 3rd party vendor disaster recovery procedures
  • Perform print quality inspection, information verification, sequence order verification of all VINS
  • Reprint labels, documents as necessary due to quality issues or plant request
  • Enforce, adhere to strict security procedures related to handling and distribution of VIN labels.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Computer literacy, experience in IT
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Extreme attention to detail Quick learner, able to adapt quickly in production critical manufacturing environment.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Process oriented with focus on continuous improvement.

 

Top 3 must-have hard skills:

  • IT experience is helpful- not a requirement.
  • Knowledge, experience working with client systems (GEPICS, MGO, Cimplicity)
  • Supply chain experience is a plus not required
  Job Responsibilities:
  • Work with senior management, technical and client teams in order to determine data requirements, business data implementation approaches, best practices for advanced data manipulation, storage and analysis strategies
  • Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions
  • Design, implement, automate and maintain large scale enterprise data ETL processes
  • Modify existing databases and database management systems and/or direct programmers and analysts to make changes
  • Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications.
 

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
  • 0-2 years applicable experience required
  • Experience with database technologies
  • Knowledge of the ETL process
  • Knowledge of at least one scripting language
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated history of success
  • Desire to be working with data and helping businesses make better data driven decisions.
