Purpose of the Role:
As a Mechanical Engineer Co-op, you will be participating in the design of RAM products and components incorporating the latest technological solutions developed by Product Engineering.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
You are currently enrolled in a undergraduate degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or similar field. You are proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), SolidWorks/Creo or other CAD software. You have knowledge with process validation and quality management systems. You are familiar with manufacturing process development and/or automation. You have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis.Bonus Skills and Qualifications:
You have experience using practices such as Lean, D/P FMEA, Design of Experiments, SPC (including Mini-Tab), Kaizen, S, and others. You have experience in Cobot/robot, Python programming, and PLC programming.What Success looks like in this role:
You will develop and optimize manufacturing processes: Design, develop, and improve manufacturing processes and workflows to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality. You will learn a culture of continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing, statistical process control (Six Sigma), and other methodologies, to identify and eliminate waste, reduce costs, and improve overall operational efficiency. You will investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop corrective and preventive actions to address quality or process problems. You will learn to analyze of manufacturing processes and equipment to improve efficiency and reduce machinery downtime, as well as research and implement potential new equipment for manufacturing. You will learn reliable safety control systems for safeguarding automated equipment and other high volume manufacturing equipment.
