Together we’re Better.Please note that this Pharmacy Technician position is a Monday to Friday only. Alberta Children's Hospital (ACH) is the largest public hospital for sick children in Alberta. ACH was built with family centered care in mind and prides itself on engaging patients and families on a regular basis through a family centered approach to care. ACH is a leader in pediatric and neonatal care and is a major referral center for pediatric malignancies and complex hematological treatment including pediatric bone marrow transplants and Alberta’s only hospice for children (Rotary Flames House) located next door. Here at ACH we offer a variety of Pharmacy Inpatient Services include our Oncology Satellite Pharmacy, Day Medicine, Rotary Flames House, and Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) onsite and offsite and at the Foothills Medical Center. Our Pharmacy Technicians work collaboratively with the health care team performing moderately complex duties; such as clinical supporting roles, full scope of practice, and responsibilities related to all aspects of drug distribution. The position requires an organized and motivated self-starter who has the ability to work independently as well as in a team setting by establishing a positive rapport with a variety of health care professionals. Shift lengths are 4 hours Monday-Thursday and hours on Friday. Shift length and rotation may need to be adjusted due to ongoing operational facility requirements.
Description:
As a Pharmacy Technician I, you will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical products. You will receive and triage medication orders, compound and repackage medication and prepare sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.
Required Qualifications:Completion of a CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician.
Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:In addition, the successful incumbent will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in the following:Demonstrated communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.Displays professionalism, tact, courtesy, discretion and respects confidentiality.Demonstrated ability to work in teams. Demonstrated computer (windows-based computer applications) and typing skills.Committed to continual personal quality improvement and lifelong learning.
