As a CNC Mill Operator you will learn to accurately set up, and operate, a high precision, multi-axis milling machine centers to fabricate metallic components based on drawing specifications, and tight finishing tolerance's.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Setting up and operating CNC precision milling centers.
  • Interprets drawings and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and sequence of machining operations to achieve the desired outcome.
  • Load and edit control media to optimize and/or correct machining performance.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control elements.
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunction and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools to verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications with tolerances as tight as +/- 0.0002”.
  • Conduct routine, prescribed, maintenance on equipment.
  • Operate an overhead crane to lift and set pieces on the machine.
  • Ability to select, align and secure holding fixtures.
  • Maintain and clean and organized work area.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College Diploma or Certified Apprenticeship program in General Machining, Tool & Die, Mold Making or Mechanical Engineering Technician.
  • Minimum 1 years of recent experience operating a high-speed finishing milling center manufacturing tight tolerances components.
  • Knowledge interpreting engineering drawings
  • Proficient use of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges CMM machines)
  • Ability to work in a high precision, fast paced environment.
