We are hiring a Engineering Specialist to join our growing Building team based out of either Ottawa or Toronto. The successful candidate will work in a structural team within a multidiscipline office and shall work on varied projects.

Your role within the team:

Actively participate in the design and preparation of plans and specifications (steel, concrete, wood, masonry). Conduct studies, surveys, technical reports, and structural inspections. Supervise the execution of structural work during the construction phase. Ensure that the engineering work is produced according to the quality standards of the industry and respect the National Building Code. Coordinate projects that impact your structural design with the other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, architecture, process). Maintain and develop client and stakeholder relationships.

The ideal candidate:  

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Master's degree in Structural Engineering is an asset.  Two to five years of previous related experience in a similar role. Intermediate experience with structural design software (ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, etc.). Valid Peng designation with PEO or working towards it. Detail oriented with ability to manage changing priorities. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
