Production Control Coordinator

Basic Function
Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI), an HF Sinclair company is seeking a full-time Production Control Coordinator. Reporting to the Manager Business Optimization, the Coordinator, Production Control will assist with the quality control, inventory management and logistics of incoming feedstocks, intermediates and finished products to ensure products meet customer requirements and are delivered on time in full (OTIF).
Job Duties
Incorporates monthly LP plans, product demands, inventories, unit rates/yields and feedstock delivery logistics into a comprehensive refinery production schedule that is used to prepare daily operating instructions Issues daily operating instructions to the plant defining unit operating targets and directing rundown streams to meet production requirements Assists with adjustments to feedstock ratios, rundown streams and unit operating conditions to ensure all products meet specifications Maintains feedstock inventories at the Mississauga Refinery and offsite terminals Participates in logistical supply of incoming feedstocks via trucks, rail cars and marine cargos Maintains inventory of finished products to align with product demands including the timing of marine cargo loading Maintains the inventory, logistics and contractual commitments related to naphtha feedstock supply and intermediate exports including cat feed, diesel, reformate and slop Maintains inventories of feedstocks and intermediates in preparation for planned unit outages Maintains winter feedstock logistics when marine shipments are shut down due to the seaway closure Coordinates processing of 3rd party base oils to increase production and profits Works with the Basestock Quality Team to evaluate new product opportunities and troubleshoot production quality issues Supports the review, development and implementation of strategic initiatives Responds to emergency situation and ensure safe management of all inventoriesSpecial assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion
Experience
A minimum of 3 years of related experience is required
Education Level
A minimum of a university degree is required. Preference is for a degree in Process/Chemical Engineering
Required Skills
Refinery Production Knowledge – Familiar with lubricant plant operations and processes Optimization – ability to generate and implement alternatives which save costs, increase production, increase yields or add value Business Knowledge – ability to assess the economic cost and benefits of various alternatives Oil Flow Planning - background in planning, quality assurance and process operations Leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and mentor reportable staff Willing and able to challenge status quo and seek new opportunities to maximize profit potentials Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong presentation skills Acts as a team player for the greatest good of the organization
